Generally speaking, the moderators of the 1/7/12 debate showed a tragic unawareness of the issues facing America. The best examples are the ill-advised questions regarding same sex marriage and contreception.
The media has allowed the issue of same sex marriage to be promoted to a legal issue when it is nothing but a fringe social issue, not appropriate to legislation and/or legitimization. If the homosexuals want to establish relationships between same -gendered partners, that is their business….but to insist that it be allowed to mimick the sacred institution of marriage is a desire to legislate immorality. And the media fell for it….hook, line, and sinker.
George Stephanopoulas made a spectacle of himself by pushing the matter of contreception in the debate. I think the audience even picked up on his stupidity, and reacted negatively accordingly. What in the name of any intelligent reasoning could have prompted George’s insistant pursuit of the non-issue? Such ill-advised and assinine questions tend to make a joke of presidential debates, and last night was a premier example. Way to go moderators….once again you have just managed to marginalize an opportunity for America to hear some good men make their views known on the real issues.
I’m ashamed for America that our media is so inept.

What is the edit at 32:17? Where was the send off to the commercial break? is that what it was? it comes back with intro music I am confused.

        Nick
We do not edit any of the videos we post. In this case, as with all programs with commercial breaks, we edited out the commercial breaks and the the send off and return to and from commercial breaks. Send off’s are usually “when we come back we’ll talk about XYZ”. Returns are “before the break we talked about XYZ” With commercials removed those are not necessarily and can be annoying.

Sometimes the music overlaps the moderators question, so we do not remove that so you get the full question.

We do so to present the entire debate uninterrupted and to keep the debate flowing. However we assure you we NEVER edit or remove any of the content.

I completely agree with you Noway. These questions were ridiculous. Social issues like marriage and abortion should not be part of ANY political conversation. That’s the whole point of a SECULAR state.
What I don’t understand even more is this war propaganda on Iran and how all of these people think they’re telepaths and know exactly what Iran wants and thinks. These assumptions are ignorant and that ignorance is what is putting American citizens in serious danger. No one has ever presented any evidence of Iran trying to create a nuclear weapon and if any of these “candidates” get elected as president 9/11 is going to look like a tiny misunderstanding.
I don’t know how anyone in this country can even think about electing anyone who says killing people is completely O.K. The only human being on that stage is Ron Paul. All the others shouldn’t even be running. Can’t call yourself a Christian and then bomb innocent children overseas.
